Hello

I’m Amanda Boehm, an illustrator, designer, and elementary school librarian based in Southern California. At my core, I’m an idea person, a project person, and someone who makes things, from picture books and reading challenges to immersive, hands-on learning experiences.

I hold degrees in Painting, Creative Writing, Graphic Design, and Multimedia Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I love working at the intersection of storytelling, education, and design, especially when I get to help children grow into curious, empathetic readers and thinkers. As a librarian in a small rural desert community, I see every day how visual literacy and thoughtful design can shape how kids see themselves and the world around them.

When you work with me, you're getting more than just a designer or illustrator. You're getting a collaborator with the confidence and experience to bring big ideas to life. I’ve branded multimillion-dollar fundraising events, illustrated children’s books, built immersive theatrical installations, and created cross-disciplinary experiences that connect kids to reading and creativity. My skill set spans print and digital design, vendor and client communication, children’s book illustration, carpentry, and even gardening. I bring a strong Midwestern work ethic (accent and deep love of cheese included), and I thrive when I get to work with passionate, imaginative people.
